Karlien de Bruin is the Global Head of ESG for Sanne Group. Karlien ensures that Sanne remains a responsible steward of its resources reducing its impact on the environment and assists our clients to meet their Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) commitments and obligations.

Karlien has worked in the Financial Services industry since 2003. She is a CFA Charter holder, has a B.Sc. in Actuarial Science and certificate as Carbon Footprint Analyst.

Karlien has acted on various ESG and Responsible Investment Committees as well as the UN PRI Reporting and Assessment Committee, setting a framework for PRI Signatories to report targets for ESG goals.

Dan Botterill is the founder and CEO of sustainability technology company, Rio ESG. His focus is on developing a next generation sustainability software platform that helps clients manage ESG risk, reduce their impact and become more efficient and sustainable in the long-term.

Dan has more than 20 years’ sustainability experience, predominantly ESG & Circular Economy.  He has a Master’s degree in Environmental Law and Honours degree in Environmental Technology.

Dan has worked across both the public and private sector, providing clients with wide ranging sustainability advice and guidance. Clients include Universities, Hospitals, Local and Regional Government, Waste Management companies, Utilities companies, the Construction sector and the Financial Services sector (e.g. SFDR Article 9 funds).
